Welcome to episode two of our six-episode series about the business of technology. In the previous episode, Doug Green and John Croce, CEO of NVT Phybridge, discussed industry bias and the lack of empathy towards end-users who are trying to modernize with new technologies. In today’s podcast, John and Doug dive further into the challenges of technology upgrades: the cookie-cutter solution.

According to John, many well-meaning technology companies advance the idea of change to customers without much consideration for the customer’s requirements. Basically, they have an innovation looking for a home; an answer looking for a question. John states, “customers need modern solutions that are tailored to meet specific needs.” John and Doug discuss how to overcome this by changing the way we look at both the technologies we sell and the customers who use them. John provides an alternative solution and shares the success experienced by New Mexico State University, who used the NVT Phybridge PoLRE® switch and Modern LAN design principles to modernize to IP communication across campus. John outlines how this better approach can provide substantial savings to the enterprise while also improving outcomes for channel partners.
