What is Ethernet over Coax?

Ethernet over Coax (EoC) refers to a set of technologies that supports the transmission of Ethernet data over coaxial cable.

Ethernet Over Coax (EoC) technology has been around for many years. In late 2014, NVT Phybridge introduced the CLEER24 managed switch; a 24-port Ethernet over Coax switch that solved several problems with existing Ethernet Over Coax (EoC) technology. Today, the NVT Phybridge Ethernet Over Coax (EoC) family of switches and extenders provide fast ethernet speeds and high-power PoE to the Ethernet Over Coax (EoC) market.

The NVT Phybridge CLEER24 managed Ethernet Over Coax (EoC) switch delivers Ethernet and PoE+ over coax cable with up to 6,000ft (1,830m) reach, which is 18 times farther than standard PoE switches. The CLEER24 switch also supports ultra-low latency and full-duplex bandwidth.
