The NVT Phybridge CLEER24-10G switch delivers up to 50 Watts of power (PoE++) and 10/100 Mbps symmetrical, full-duplex, over coax cabling with up to 6,000ft (1,830m) reach – 18 times the reach of standard switches.

However, the prospect of a complete network overhaul across multiple properties was financially prohibitive and logistically complex. Replacing the existing cabling, cooling, and other supporting infrastructure would have involved extensive labor, potential damage to existing infrastructure, and significant downtime, which was unacceptable for the high-occupancy student apartments. The Scion Group needed a solution that would allow them to deploy the new IP cameras with minimal risk, disruption, and financial burden.
Solution
NVT Phybridge PoE innovations were chosen for their proven track record of enabling seamless IP camera deployments without costly and disruptive network infrastructure changes. SightLink, the reseller partner, worked closely with The Scion Group and NVT Phybridge to ensure a smooth implementation. The Scion Group had successfully used NVT Phybridge products in previous projects, which gave them confidence in the solution’s reliability and performance. NVT Phybridge solutions offered a straightforward and cost-effective path to digital transformation success using the existing, proven, and point-to-point network connections.
For the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Charlotte, North Carolina, locations, the NVT Phybridge Ethernet over Coax switches and extender innovations leveraged the existing coax cabling, rack space, cooling, and other supporting infrastructure to enable the new IP cameras exactly where they were needed. These innovations minimized disruption to the buildings’ occupants and significantly reduced the overall project costs. In Riverside, California, while CAT5 cabling was already in place, the previous cameras were analog. The NVT Phybridge 1701+ solution was used to split the pairs, with one pair allocated to each camera, ensuring a seamless transition to IP cameras without complexity, risk, or security concerns.
The implementation process was methodical, with the installation team carefully connecting the coax and CAT5 cables to the NVT Phybridge solutions and rack-mounting the units to ensure a professional and organized setup. Each site was transitioned unit by unit, allowing for a controlled migration that minimized downtime and maintained the integrity of the network.
Results
Each location took three days to complete, totaling nine days for all three sites. This represents a remarkable 50% reduction in the total project timelines compared to traditional methodologies. Additionally, NVT Phybridge PoE innovations helped reduce total project costs by 60% compared to traditional network methodologies. The Scion Group was highly satisfied with the project’s outcomes, noting that the NVT Phybridge solutions delivered precisely what was promised: a reliable, secure, and high-performance IP network using its network cabling, rack space, cooling, and other supporting infrastructure. The seamless transmission of data and power over the same line was particularly appreciated, simplifying installation and reducing potential points of failure.

Challenge
The Fairmont Princess, a luxury resort in Scottsdale, AZ, faced the challenge of upgrading its communication infrastructure to meet modern standards while preserving industry-leading guest experiences and operational efficiency. The resort needed to replace 300 outdated analog phones with Mitel IP phones across its expansive 65-acre property. With distances between buildings reaching up to half a mile, the task was particularly difficult. The prospect of laying new cabling was cost-prohibitive and risked significant disruption to daily operations and guest experiences. Furthermore, the resort’s management was concerned about maintaining network security, particularly with the potential vulnerabilities of integrating voice communications onto the core network.
Solution
American Telephone Inc., the resort’s trusted solution integrator, recommended the NVT Phybridge PoLRE innovation to overcome the project’s critical challenges. The PoLRE switch allowed the resort to use the existing single-pair UTP wiring, rack space, cooling, and other supporting infrastructure, eliminating the complexity, extended deployment times, and disruption of a rip-and-replace strategy.
